Callao Cave

One of the chambers of Callao Cave is the altar

Callao Cave is a tourist destination where people experience an enjoyable and exciting adventure. For those who are interested, these are the basic information about Callao Cave. First of all, Callao Cave is located in PeƱablanca, Cagayan. In order to get there from Manila, one can take a bus, a plane, or travel using a car to Tuguegarao City. If one travels by bus or car, the travel time is about 8 to 10 hours. If one travels by plane, it is only takes 1 hour to arrive in Tuguegarao City. From Tuguegarao City, one can take a jeep, which costs Php1,000.00 for a round trip for ten people according to my father, or drive using a car to PeƱablanca in order to arrive to Callao Cave. In order to arrive at the entrance of Callao Cave, one can go directly to the entrance of the cave or take a boat and cross the Mororan River to get to Callao Cave. Taking the Mororan River route will let one experience being drenched by the mini waterfalls that the driver of the boat will purposely drive through.
Mororan River

Sharp stalactites and stalagmites
Upon arriving, one will be greeted by the blue Mororan River. The river provides tourists and swimmers a cool and refreshing feeling to combat the summer heat. While walking towards the stairs that lead to the entrance of the cave, the minty smell of wet plants relaxes you like hands massaging your head. Upon arriving to the bottom of the very long staircase, one must endure a very long walk up to the entrance of the cave. Climbing the stairs makes one feel like losing 10 pounds because of the sweat falling from your body. Upon arriving, sharp stalactites and stalagmites that look like teeth will greet tourists. Entering the cave will enable people to experience different kinds of adventure. One can roam around to the different chambers of the cave. Other tourists who are fond of taking great pictures can take beautiful pictures of the scenery in the cave. Some tourists can also go into the more dangerous chambers to experience a more challenging adventure. Some can swim through a narrow but deep path of water in order to explore other chambers. Some can also climb down, avoiding the sharp stalagmites, to the other chambers. Some can also swim in the cold, blue, and clear Mororan River. Callao Cave surely is the place to experience an exciting and enjoyable adventure especially with friends and family.
